2018 PlumpJack Reserve Chardonnay Napa Valley
This wine is packed with the fresh aromas of Meyer lemon, stone fruit, honeysuckle, and a touch of barrel spice. The palate is creamy, silky, and bright, giving the sensations of great weight and vibrant freshness. Load up on this Chard; you won't regret it.
California Governor Gavin Newsom and composer Gordon Getty opened a wine store in San Francisco called PlumpJack in 1992 and then renamed the century-old Mount Eden winery after they purchased it. Their Reserve Chardonnay is a perfect blend of two vineyards. The Carneros vineyard gives this wine a beautiful, bright, lively acidity, which is balanced by the creamy, rich texture of the St. Helena vineyard fruit. By foregoing malolactic fermentation, it retains its bright, lively malic acid, which gives this wine its balance, drive, and length.
