2018 Martin Ray Cabernet Sauvignon Santa Cruz Mountains
The peaks of the Santa Cruz Mountains have been growing grapes for decades. Only recently have they started getting the recognition they deserve. As a cooler climate growing region grapes like Chardonnay and Pinot Noir do exceptionally well. In the last few years Zinfandel, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon have been the most notable outliers. Martin Ray has focused on sustainable growing practices and creating stunning wines throughout their portfolio. This particular Cab has loads of forest floor, dark and juicy fruit. Its chewy tannins make it a perfect steak night wine.
