Grgich Hills Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford 2017
Subtle black currant, plum, dusty rocks, dried cherry. The palate is carried by red berries, rhubarb, sage, and a medium to full-body weight. Lastly, it finishes firm, chewy and velvety. History in a bottle with new-world swag.
Grgich Hills Estate is about as iconic as Napa Valley gets. They have consistently produced world-class wines since Mike Grgich opened the doors in 1977. Mike earned world-wide recognition when the Chardonnay he crafted (from Ch. Montelena) won the 1976 Paris Tasting, beating the best of France. Today the winery is committed to natural winegrowing and sustainability, they farm their five estate vineyards without artificial fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and rely on wild yeast fermentation.
