Made by the uber-talented Genevieve Janssens, long-time winemaker at Robert Mondavi, this bottling is the prototype of Napa Chardonnay, having spent nine months aging on its lees. Wine and Spirits awarded it 92 points, saying that, "the fruit has evolved from yellow apple toward orange and cranberry notes while the lees take it in the direction of wild fennel and crushed seashells. Firm and juicy, this is ready to chill for grilled shellfish." Wine and Spirits also considered this Chardonnay a "Best Buy." We agree; it doesn't get much better than this!
